Rowing event
The Los Gatos Rowing Club will be in the field at the Windermere Collegiate Crew Classic on March 2728 at Redwood Shores in Redwood City.
While such powers as Stanford, UC Berkeley, Princeton and Cornell battle it out in the 15-team collegiate field, Los Gatos will compete with other club teams, including the Pacific Rowing Club, the Marin Rowing Club, the Peninsula Rowing Club, the Stanford Rowing Club, St. Ignatius, Berkeley and a team from Osnabruck, Germany. There will also be outrigger races between a team from Kona, Hawaii, and the Kilohana Club of California.
Racing will be held Saturday, 9 a.m.5 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m.3 p.m.
Golf tourney
The Los Gatos Little League will hold its fourth annual golf tournament on April 26 at the La Rinconada Country Club. The tourney welcomes league alumni, friends of the league and local business people.
The cost is $195 per player, and includes golf, a barbecue lunch catered by C.B. Hannegan's, a buffet dinner, on-course beverages, range balls, logo golf shirts and hats, a $12 pro shop credit and a sleeve of golf balls. The registration deadline is March 31, but those who register by March 15 will receive 10 raffle tickets.
Special events include longest drive and closest-to-the-pin competitions, a margarita hole, live and silent auctions, a raffle, a Los Gatos Brewing Company hole, and an awards ceremony. A hole-in-one wins a new Buick Rainier.
