Friends offer
workshop for
young writers

Martha Alderson and her fellow Friends of the Los Gatos Public Library will give children ages 8 to 12 tips on how to create a compelling story in their workshop for young writers on April 24. Held in the Neighborhood Center, 208 E. Main St., the 2 1/2-hour class teaches students the fundamentals of plot and character development.

Early registration is encouraged due to limited seating. Registration fee is $15. To sign up or for more information, call 408.399.5700.

Demolition
of JCC, new
center coming

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos will be demolished April 1 at 10 a.m. The site will be the future home of the Gloria and Ken Levy Family Campus, housing the Jewish Federation of Greater San Jose, the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center, Yavneh Day School and Jewish Family Service.

Construction on the campus will begin April 25. The center is located at 14855 Oka Road. For more information, call Jyl Jurman, director of financial resource development with the Jewish Federation, at 408.358.3033.
