Powder puff girls
giving back to
the high school

The Los Gatos High School girls powder puff team donated $1,000 from its fall game and fundraiser to the school's Theater Improvement Project. The $1,000 donation includes a seat in the renovated theater dedicated to the 2004 powder puff graduates.

The powder puff girls have been donating a portion of their proceeds to the community for 15 years. The seniors on the team included Katie Susskind, April Peth, Cheryl Parkman and Genelle Pugliese.

Westmont High's
musical twists
mermaid tale

Westmont High School, 4805 Westmont Ave., is hosting its spring musical Once On This Island, based on the novel My Love, My Love by Rosa Guy. Performances are April 2­3 and 8­10. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Students with valid identification cards receive a $2 discount.

Scholarship
deadline is
approaching

Santa Clara County Clover Foundation is offering a scholarship to all high school seniors and college freshmen. The competition for the $1,000 scholarship will be based on 4-H or Future Farmers of America membership, or those youth dedicated to pursuing an agricultural-based or home economics career. West Valley
will host a
transfer fair

West Valley College students interested in transferring to a four-year college or university are invited to a free transfer fair on April 13 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the campus center, 14000 Fruitvale Ave., Saratoga.

Representatives from University of California and California State University systems and private colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions about transfer requirements, housing and financial aid. WVC counselors and student-services staff will be available to tell students about transfer-admission agreements with participating universities and career programs.
