Eleanor Jean Campbell Carman

Eleanor Jean Campbell Carman, 80, died on March 11 at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Carman attended Los Gatos Elementary School and was a 1941 graduate of Los Gatos High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Carman, three years later. A businesswoman and an expert in plants, she was a second-generation owner of Carman's Nursery. She organized high school reunions every five years and was adept in needlecraft work.

Carman is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Trisha and John Work; Diane and Danny Chambers; and Nancy and Bob Schramm. She will also be remembered by her nephew, Stuart Campbell; her niece, Kary Klock; sisters-in-law Marie Rider, Marge Johns and Dot Dodd; and four grandchildren.

Services will be held on April 3 at 2 p.m. at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Los Gatos. Donations can be made to Good Shepherd Communities, 119 N. Main St., Porterville, CA 93257.
