Jack Boyd

Jack Boyd, 78, died on March 12 after a hard-fought battle with leukemia.

A Los Gatos resident of 38 years, Boyd held a career in sales and management. He later became the owner of J&B Enterprises. When he wasn't working, Boyd enjoyed singing, playing tennis and dancing. He performed as a bass singer with the San Jose Garden City Barbershop Chorus.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Sue, his sister, Ann Olson, and his daughters, Bonnie Spencer and Patty Faulstich, and their families. A memorial service will be held on May 23 at 1 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living, 1195 Clark St., San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Barbershop Harmony Society, 7930 Sheridan Road, Kenosha, WI 53143.

Alden David Johnson

Alden David Johnson, 71, died on April 1 after a hard-fought battle with Parkinson's disease. Johnson, born in Parlier, Calif., was the owner of and pharmacist at Los Gatos Pharmacy for 31 years, from 1966 to 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Johnson; his sons, Gregg, Loren and Brian Johnson; his sister, Lorraine Eckhardt; and four grandchildren.
