Cats selected

Former Los Gatos football players Jared Allen and Ryan Sorahan will each be heading to professional camps this week following last weekend's NFL draft.

Allen, who starred at Idaho State, was drafted in the fourth round by the Kansas City Chiefs and will get a look as a defensive end/linebacker and as a long snapper.

Sorahan, a quarterback at Arkansas, wasn't drafted, but he was signed as a free agent by the New Orleans Saints.

Alumni baseball

Former Los Gatos High School baseball players--the Wildcats are looking for you.

Los Gatos will host an alumni baseball game on May 8. The Wildcats will host Prospect at noon in a non-league game, and the alumni game will follow. For more information, contact head coach Brad Sanfilippo or assistant coach Jason Drotar, both former Wildcats, at lghsbaseball@yahoo.com.

Rowing class

The Los Gatos Rowing Club will offer a learn-to-row class, an ongoing introductory program for those ages 27 or older who want to learn the basics of rowing.

The cost for each four-class session is $250. Participants who complete the program will receive a three-month provisional membership to the club. The next session is May 8, 8 a.m.­noon, and May 9, 15 and 16, 9­11 a.m.

Fall soccer

The Los Gatos United Soccer League will hold walk-in registration for players ages 5­15 on April 28, 7­8:30 p.m. at Alta Vista Elementary School and on May 6, 7­8:30 p.m. at Daves Avenue Elementary School.
