No injuries in
vegetation fire
in mountains
A vegetation fire was reported at 9:53 a.m. May 10 near southbound Highway 17 and Montevina Road.
Though more than three acres burned, there was no structural damage, injury or death as a result of the fire.
Fire crews from the Santa Clara County and Saratoga fire departments, Mid-Peninsula Regional Open Space District
and the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection had the fire contained by 10:35 a.m.
The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.

approves
5-year CIP
The Los Gatos Planning Commission voted unanimously to approve the five-year Capital Improvement Program at the May 12 meeting.
New projects for 20042005 being considered include reconstruction of the La Rinconada Trail, storm drain improvements on Santa Cruz Avenue and repairs to the bridge on Roberts Road.
Monte Sereno
to host annual
city picnic
The Monte Sereno city picnic is coming June 5 from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Oak Meadow Park in Los Gatos.
The event will be held in picnic areas No. 1 and No. 2 with live music and a free barbecue for all Monte Sereno residents. The three acts of entertainment will occur from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.
