seniors head
to nationals
Los Gatos High School seniors Aaron Blumenthal and Aarash Bordbar placed second at the state speech and debate championship tournament and will move on to a national competition June 12 in Salt Lake City. There are approximately 50 active members on the team. The team's assistant coach Hoon Ko, a community volunteer, also received the first diamond award by the National Forensic League for his dedication and commitment to speech and debate.
Yavneh names
Abramson as
head of school
Yavneh Day School of Los Gatos, serving grades K5, appointed a new head of school, Lori Abramson. She plans to bring to the school her educational leadership skills and passion for Jewish learning. For the past 10 years, Abramson has served as director of education at Temple Sinai in Oakland. Abramson replaces interim heads of the school Meril Smith and Tony Rousso.
Yavneh Day School is temporarily located on the Kehillah Jewish High School campus in San Jose, while the Gloria and Ken Levy Family Campus undergoes renovations until the summer of 2005.

Corine Demian Milano, a freshman pre-journalism major, and Caitlin Rose McGuan, a sophomore anthropology major, both of Los Gatos, were named to the dean's list for scholastic achievement during winter term 200304 at the University of Oregon.
