Rock and Rally Festival will bring tennis, fun to Blossom Hill Park
By My Ngo
There will be a whole lot of racket at Blossom Hill Park on June 5—the kind that gets people all rallied up.

Those who love tennis and need a buddy to hit some balls with on the court are invited to double up with one of the 100 or so fellow tennis fans expected to participate in the second annual Rock and Rally Festival hosted by the South Bay Community Tennis Association.

The event, taking place from 1 to 5 p.m., will feature ongoing doubles play in which players will have an opportunity to win prizes from Tennis Anywhere and the United States Tennis Association.

Children can get in on the action as well. There will be ralleyball matches for those ages 6 through 12. A spinoff of tennis, ralleyball is a fast-moving sport that involves six rotating players on one team.

For the not-so-experienced players, local pros will hold free tennis clinics for juniors and adults.

"The event is for anyone interested in tennis, whether they are in the beginning or the advanced levels," says Todd Dissly. "The purpose is to get people interested in the sport and to keep those who are already interested involved."
