Grads honored
in ceremonies
at local schools
As the school year comes to an end in Los Gatos, ceremonies celebrating 2004 graduates will be held June 911. Graduation dates are as follows: Raymond J. Fisher Middle School, June 10 at 6 p.m. at Calvary Church; Leigh High School, June 10 at 5 p.m. on the football field, with doors opening at 4 p.m.; Westmont High School on June 10 at 4:30 p.m. in the stadium; Los Gatos High School on June 11 at 6 p.m. on the front lawn; and the Nova program on June 9 at 9 a.m. at the Los GatosSaratoga Joint Union High School district office.
Fancher taking
part in semester
at sea program
Nicole Fancher of Los Gatos, a sophomore at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., participated in the semester at sea program through the Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, Mass. Fancher successfully completed a six-week shore component of the program, while earning academic credit in oceanography, nautical science and maritime studies.
At the Woods Hole campus, Fancher developed a research project tested aboard SEA's 134-foot sailing school vessel, which sailed for six weeks and about 2,200 nautical miles.
