As the school year comes to an end in Los Gatos, ceremonies celebrating 2004 graduates will be held June 9­11. Graduation dates are as follows: Raymond J. Fisher Middle School, June 10 at 6 p.m. at Calvary Church; Leigh High School, June 10 at 5 p.m. on the football field, with doors opening at 4 p.m.; Westmont High School on June 10 at 4:30 p.m. in the stadium; Los Gatos High School on June 11 at 6 p.m. on the front lawn; and the Nova program on June 9 at 9 a.m. at the Los Gatos­Saratoga Joint Union High School district office.

Fancher taking
part in semester
at sea program

Nicole Fancher of Los Gatos, a sophomore at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y., participated in the semester at sea program through the Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, Mass. Fancher successfully completed a six-week shore component of the program, while earning academic credit in oceanography, nautical science and maritime studies.

At the Woods Hole campus, Fancher developed a research project tested aboard SEA's 134-foot sailing school vessel, which sailed for six weeks and about 2,200 nautical miles.
