Misdemeanor Hit and Run—June 8, 5:51 p.m. An employee of the Black Watch pub left work and found that her vehicle had been hit. No information was left at the scene.
Identity Theft—June 8, 10:24 a.m. A Nino Avenue resident was contacted by her credit card company and told that someone attempted to use her name and Social Security number in New Jersey.
Assault With a Deadly Weapon—June 7, 1:11 p.m. An 18-year-old student said someone in a Mitsubishi intentionally struck her with his vehicle on Chicago Avenue while she was walking to class. She sustained minor injuries to her right arm and both legs.
Death—June 7, 1:01 p.m. The neighbor of a 59-year-old woman called police and said she had not seen the woman for several weeks and that a strong odor was coming from her Towne Terrace apartment. Officers found the woman's body in an advanced stage of decomposition, but saw no evidence of foul play. The woman had no known medical ailments.
Urinating in Public—June 6, 5:15 p.m. An officer responded to a report of a male urinating in public on W. Main Street. Upon arriving, the officer asked a group of three people "Who urinated in the bushes?" A 16-year-old boy raised his hand and said, "I just did." When the officer asked him why he did not use any one of several nearby restrooms, the boy said, "The world is my urinal. This isn't a big deal." The boy was cited and released to his parents.
Driving Under the Influence—June 4, 10:34 p.m. An officer approached two 21-year-old men exiting a car he had observed driving from University Avenue to a parking lot on Blossom Hill Road. The officer noticed a strong alcoholic odor on the driver's breath when the driver told the officer he was dropping the passenger off at his car. The passenger's eyes were red and watery, and his speech was slurred. The passenger, who admitted to having a few drinks, participated in several field sobriety tests. The driver failed the field sobriety tests, and a breath test showed a 0.15 percent blood-alcohol level. The driver was arrested and booked into jail.
Possession of a Controlled Substance—June 9, 4:59 a.m. An officer contacted a 48-year-old man who was sleeping in the front passenger seat of his vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of his San Jose residence. The officer knew the man was on parole and probation for drug offences, and he appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant. The officer found two baggies of methamphetamines in the man's pockets, and arrested him on possession, under the influence, and parole and probation violation charges. He was booked into jail.
