Resisting Arrest—July 6, 8:08 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop for "exhibition of speed" on westbound Highway 9. The driver, a 19-year-old man, resisted, but was arrested and booked into the main jail.
Hit and Run—July 5, 1:05 a.m. A 26-year-old man reportedly fled after being involved in a vehicle collision on N. Santa Cruz Avenue. The man was later found inside a store on the same street and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested for driving under the influence, committing a hit and run and driving without a license and was booked into the main jail.
Mail Theft—Between July 3, 10:15 a.m., and July 4, 11:30 a.m. Someone pried open a mailbox on Teresita Way and stole two pieces of mail.
Battery—July 3, between 8:30 and 9 p.m. An unidentified man reportedly hit a 53-year-old woman with his forearm and knocked her to the ground in front of the University Avenue business where she works. The man fled, and the woman went to the hospital for back injuries.
Indecent Exposure—July 3, 4:30 p.m. A 27-year-old man allegedly exposed himself to a 43-year-old woman on Oka Road. An officer collected reports from the man, the woman and witnesses, and no one was arrested.
Battery—July 2, 6:41 p.m. A 31-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were involved in a "mutual" battery on Jo Drive. The man and woman were counseled on how to handle future disagreements.
Identity Theft—July 2, 7:57 a.m. The identity of a 44-year-old man who lives on Loma Alta Avenue was used to open a line of credit at a Manteca Wal-Mart in June. More than $800 was charged to the card, but the man said he has never been to a Wal-Mart store and did not open the account at a store or online.
Prowling—July 5, 2:58 a.m. A 44-year-old woman reported hearing someone knocking near a window on the rear wall of her Oak Rim Court apartment. She yelled for the person to go away, but the knocking continued. When she opened the blinds, she said she was startled to see a man face to face and told him to go away and that she had called the police. She recognized the man as a resident of the apartment complex, but did not want him arrested or prosecuted, simply warned about the unlawfulness of his actions.
