Mr. Johnson goes to Washington as People to People representative
Benjamin Johnson, who will be entering his senior year at Los Gatos High School in the fall, joined a select group of students representing his school, community and the state of California as a People to People student leader.

Benjamin was accepted into the People to People Future Leaders Summit on Law, which took place in Washington, D.C., and at prestigious institutions throughout the country from June 29 through July 7. All students accepted into the program had to meet rigorous academic and leadership requirements.

Benjamin was nominated and accepted for the honor based on outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential. He has maintained a 4.6 grade point average at Los Gatos High and was selected for the honor by his guidance counselor, Gerry Watanabe. He is the son of Georgi Johnson of Monte Sereno and Hoke Johnson.

The summit focused on law, medicine, healthcare and leadership, bringing together outstanding students from across the United States to focus on leadership, team building, college admissions and professional aspirations. Students could choose to build their courtroom skills, focus on how to enter the medical profession or work on an action plan to make a difference in their community. Students develop skills to help them lead, while earning academic or service-learning credit.
