Misdemeanor Warrant—July 27, 11:32 p.m. During a traffic stop, a police officer's record check of a 36-year-old man revealed the driver had a warrant for $1,500 out of the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department. He was arrested, cited and released from the Los Gatos­Monte Sereno Police Department.

Felony Warrant—July 27, 2:59 p.m. A police officer stopped a 38-year-old man who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man said he was aware of the warrant and had recently resolved himself to take care of the matter. He was placed under arrest for the confirmed warrant and transported to the main jail for booking.

Vandalism—July 27, 9:57 a.m. Sometime between June 25 and July 25, an unknown vandal or vandals broke two trees in half and damaged several door frames with a pry tool at a location on Church Street in Los Gatos. The suspect or suspects remain at large.

Found Property—July 26, 9:59 a.m. A person turned in a gun to the police department.

Embezzlement—July 25, 1:41 p.m. Two employees of a University Avenue business reportedly embezzled $1,515.37 between March and July 17, 2004, by making false cash returns at the store. One, a 24-year-old man, was arrested and the other, a 23-year-old man, remains at large.

Driving Under the Influence—July 25, 2:43 a.m. A 34-year-old man stopped for a traffic violation on Los Gatos Boulevard was found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. He gave a false name to police officers and damaged a pair of handcuffs in an effort to break free. It was later revealed that he had an active "no-bail" parole warrant, three drunken-driving convictions in the last seven years and a suspended driver's license. He was also carrying a 4-inch double-edged dagger when arrested.

Grand Theft—July 24, 6:47 p.m. A 48-year-old man reported that while he was away from his Longridge Road home for an hour, someone stole two jars of coins from his bedroom.

Burglary—July 24, 11:30 a.m. An automotive burglary occurred in the parking lot of a restaurant on N. Santa Cruz Avenue.

Theft—July 23, between 8 and 11 p.m. Someone stole a suitcase containing clothes and a digital camera from an unlocked vehicle parked in the underground lot on University Avenue.

Deadly Weapon—July 23, 9:10 p.m. After stopping a truck on Los Gatos Boulevard at Nino Avenue, police found a shuriken—more commonly known as a "ninja throwing star"—in the vehicle. The 24-year-old driver was arrested and booked into jail.

Burglary—July 23, 1:40 p.m. Five people were arrested after stealing clothing from the same N. Santa Cruz Avenue store from which they reportedly stole $6,000 worth of merchandise July 18. After recognizing them in the store from the first burglary, the store owner interrupted two women and one man, who then fled. The owner called 911 with the license plate number, and the vehicle was stopped on Jackson Street at E. Main Street. One man and three women were arrested and booked into jail for two counts of commercial burglary. Another woman was arrested and booked on one count.
