Baseball camps will be held Aug. 9­13 at the Union Little League field and Aug. 16­20 at the Lincoln Glen Little League field. The cost is $129 per camper and camp hours are 9 a.m.­1 p.m. each day.

Instructors include camp director Roger Samuels, a former pitcher for the San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates; Mark Cummins, a former professional infielder and the longtime head baseball coach at Live Oak High School; and Ernie Broglio, a former 20-game winner for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Volleyball camps

The Vision Volleyball Club will host volleyball camps for girls this summer at West Valley Community College in Saratoga.

A youth camp for girls in grades 5­8 will be held Aug. 9­12, 9 a.m.­noon each day, at West Valley; and an advanced camp for girls in grades 9­12 will be held Aug. 9­12, 5­8 p.m., at West Valley.

Baseball camp

The first Wildcat Baseball Camp will be held Aug. 9­11, 9:30 a.m.­12:30 p.m. for players ages 7­12, and 2:30­5:30 p.m. for players ages 13­14, on the diamond at Los Gatos High School.

"The camp will focus on all aspects of becoming a complete player," said camp director and Los Gatos baseball coach Brad Sanfilippo, a product of the Los Gatos youth baseball system and a former Wildcat. Hitting, bunting, fielding and pitching skills will be covered.
