Vandalism—Between Aug. 30, 7:30 p.m., and Aug. 31, 7:30 a.m. Two rental vehicles were vandalized while in the parking lot of an automobile rental business on Los Gatos Boulevard.
Stolen Vehicle—Between Aug. 30, 7:30 p.m., and Aug. 31, 3:08 a.m. A woman reported that her vehicle was stolen from her carport on Oak Rim Way. Her purse, gym clothing and spare car keys were in the vehicle, and her credit cards were later used to make unauthorized purchases.
Driving Under the Influence—Aug. 30, 2:20 a.m. An 18-year-old man was found unconscious behind the wheel of his car, which was stopped on Blossom Hill Road at Hillbrook Drive. When some passersby checked on him, he exited the vehicle and vomited. Officers arrived and arrested him for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was booked into jail.
Battery—Aug. 30, 2:15 a.m. A 19-year-old man reportedly tried to strangle his 18-year-old ex-girlfriend in his Towne Terrace apartment. He was arrested.
Theft—Aug. 29, 4 p.m. An officer approached a 63-year-old man who was suspected of shopping cart theft from a Blossom Hill Road supermarket. The man gave his name and date of birth, but the officer discovered that he gave false information and that he was on parole with a felony parole violation warrant. He was arrested, and vodka, juice and bananas in the cart were found to be stolen from the supermarket.
Court Order Violation—Aug. 29, 2:58 p.m. A woman reported that a 38-year-old man was violating a restraining order by making harassing phone calls to her.
Grand Theft—Aug. 29, between 12:45 and 1:10 p.m. Someone stole a laptop computer from a N. Santa Cruz Avenue business without being immediately noticed.
Spousal Abuse—Aug. 29, 11:50 a.m. A 24-year-old man reportedly hit his wife on University Avenue, causing a visible injury. He took the phone away from her when she said she was going to call the police. He was arrested and booked into jail.
Prescription Fraud—Aug. 27, 12:08 p.m. A prescription fraud was reported at a Winchester Boulevard pharmacy. A 43-year-old woman had called the pharmacy with a prescription for Vicodin and arrived in a taxi to pick it up. Officers arrived and determined that the prescription was fraudulent and that she was under the influence of drugs. She was arrested and booked into jail.
