Campbell strikes out seven Cardinals in Diamondbacks' 9-2 victory

Campbell, a fireballer for the Diamondbacks in major division of the Los Gatos Little League, struck out seven in three innings in a 9-2 win on April 6. Then Robbie Dunne came on in relief and struck out six in two innings. Ian MacBeth went 2 for 2 on the day.

Nolan Cole went 2 for 3 for the Cards and Taig McNulty threw three innings, striking out four and hitting a double at the plate.

The Tigers also bested the Yankees on April 6, 14-5. John Williams was on the hill for the Tigers and struck out five in three innings. Williams also hit the ball well, knocking two hits in the win. Alex Nimerov had two hits in three at-bats for the Tigers and Chase Mardesich added two hits.

More recently, the Royals defeated the A's 6-1 on April 7 with Ryan McMahon of the Royals standing out with two RBIs.

The Red Sox met the Orioles for a double-header on April 5 and the Red Sox came away with two wins--8-1 and 11-8.

David Picone threw five innings in the first game, striking out eight and getting two hits of his own for the Sox, while Peter Wedell scored three runs in the game.

Ben Rosenberg threw three innings for the O's, with five outs by way of strikes.

In the second game, Teddy Enfantino stood out with two hits for the Sox.

John Ferrari had two hits for the O's and John Shamshonian had two hits, including a home run.

The Cubbies bested the Reds on April 4, 10-9. Curtis Briedenthal scored four runs for the Cubs and Tyler Olivet struck out seven in three innings and added two doubles and scored twice on the offensive side. Max Genetti crushed two doubles and had three RBIs for the Cubs.

Anthony Varni had three hits for the Reds and scored three times, while Nathan Fumia had two hits and scored twice.

The Orioles met and defeated the Giants on April 3. But it was only Nick LaBombarda who stood out in the game. The Giants' player blasted a home run and split the pitching duties with Tommy McCullough.

The Cards downed the Royals 9-5 on April 3. Oliver Lamb went 2 for 3 for the Cards, while Taig McNulty and Chase Horn both pitched in the win.

Ryan McMahon threw three innings with five Ks and had two hits for the Royals. Phillip Perry hammered two hits in the loss.

The Tigers denied the Astros on April 2, 5-3. Williams was the story of the day, throwing three shutout innings with nine strikeouts and hitting a home run of his own for the Tigers. Nick Lamson came in and struck out five in two innings of relief. David Anderson roped two hits and scored twice for the Tigers.

Max Burt had three hits for the Astros, while Marcus DeVarona threw three innings and struck out five.

The Diamondbacks faced the Yankees on April 2 and defeated them 8-5. Dunne threw two innings for the D'backs with five outs by way of strikes. Adam Gouldsberry went 2 for 3, Danny Defever belted a double and Campbell went 2 for 3.

Marshall Finch went 2 for 3 for the Yankees.
