Saratoga Sox pull out 4-3 win over Los Gatos Sox

It was a battle of the Sox on April 6. The Red Sox of Los Gatos Pony Baseball faced the White Sox of Saratoga, but were unable to come home with a victory.

The White Sox won 4-3, despite the best efforts of the Los Gatos squad. Hank Hansen had the big bat for the Red Sox with two singles and a double on the day. Joshua Yun helped out with two hits and Houston Hibberd hammered a triple in the loss.

Sean Mandell of Saratoga belted a single and a double in the win.

On April 5, the Los Gatos Reds bested the LG Giants 15-5. Matt Horton and Jake Scullion both smashed three hits for the Reds, while Jason Shepardson and Sean Collins hammered two hits apiece. Harry Jordan also ripped a double in the win. Ryan Martin and Nate Burke were the only two Giants to stand out. Burke blasted two doubles and Martin belted two singles in the loss.

The LG Red Sox faced their counterpart, the Saratoga Red Sox, on April 4 with Saratoga winning 11-1.

The LG Yankees defeated the LG Marlins 4-3 the same day. Alex Silver of the Yankees nailed two base hits and stole three bases in the win. Jeffrey Clark doubled and stole five bases, while Nate Aguiar handled the pitching. Aguiar threw seven innings, striking out 10.

The LG Astros downed the LG Cubs on April 3, 8-7. Chris LaBouff had a great day with a single and two doubles for the Cubbies. Dylan Lovitt hammered out two singles in the win. Jamie Eldredge belted a double for the Astros and Matt Calhoun ripped two singles.

The Reds of LG faced the Orioles on April 3 and came away with a 7-6 victory. Shepardson was on the hill for the Reds. He threw three innings and struck out six. Spencer Haven only had one hit, but it was a big one. In the top of the fourth Haven smashed a home run to keep the game close. Mike Mitchell also knocked three hits for the O's.

LG had some poor luck against the Saratoga teams on April 2. The Saratoga White Sox defeated the LG Yankees 11-6 and the Saratoga A's down the LG Cubs 5-4.

The LG Red Sox were able to best the LG A's 8-5 on April 2. Tim Garvey was on the hill for the Sox, throwing six strong innings and helping himself with two base hits. Houston Hibberd ripped a single and a double, driving in three runs in the win. The A's were held scoreless through three innings before Ryan Stillwell singled and stole second, after which he was driven in on a base knock by Kevin Murphy. Murphy threw four innings the A's, striking out 11. Stillwell had two hits in the loss.

The LG Marlins came out on top of the LG Giants 7-3 earlier in the day. Andy Moon was the big hitter for the Marlins, belting three singles. Travis Bonner also contributed with two hits and Michael Gardner added a double to the offense.

Burke roped a single and a double for the Giants in their loss and Colin Carney hammered a single and a double. Carney also topped the hill for the Giants, striking out eight in four innings.

The LG Reds downed the LG Astros 7-3 on April 1. Shepardson only threw the last two innings for the Reds, but struck out four in his appearance. Justin Lewis drove in three runs for the Reds in the victory.

Michael Economy doubled for the Astros.
