Lawrence "Larry" Stopp, 68, died on April 23 after a lengthy illness.

Stopp was born in Pacific Grove. He graduated from University Avenue Elementary School and Los Gatos High School. He then went on to serve in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Berlin, Germany, from 1959 to 1962. After leaving the Army, he returned to the U.S. Postal Service in Los Gatos. Stopp delivered mail in Los Gatos and Monte Sereno for more than 40 years.

Stopp's hobbies were camping, hunting, fishing, photography and bird watching.

Stopp is survived by his wife, Marianne Stopp, and his daughter, Sandra, and her husband, Dave Fishback.

Funeral services were held on April 29 at Darling-Fischer Chapel of the Hills in Los Gatos. Interment followed at Los Gatos Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
