The Lions Club of Los Gatos wants to give golfers one more reason to tee up for a friendly game this month--to help children.
The Los Gatos Lions Club Benefit Golf Tournament will be held on June 27 at La Rinconada Country Club. The proceeds will benefit many of the Lions' local charitable efforts, but there is one in particular it hopes to do proud.
"This year there is a special emphasis for the Diabetes Kids for Camp program," says Carol Musser, outgoing Lions Club president.
This program raises money to send children with diabetes to Camp de Los Ninos in Santa Cruz. At this camp, children learn how to live with diabetes and care for themselves with medicine, as well as enjoy recreational activities such as arts and crafts, archery and rock climbing.
The golf tournament will begin at noon on June 27, with registration at 11 a.m. Following the tournament, there will be a dinner and social hour at the Los Gatos Lodge at 6 p.m., with the announcement of tournament awards and a raffle drawing.
Individual entry fees are $150 per person, or there are Eagle Foursome Packages with extra perks for $725. All entries include green fees and a cart, lunch, range balls and entrance into course contests. The Eagle Foursome Package also includes Mulligans and raffle tickets for each person, special recognition and four-guest dinners valued at $20 each. Among the raffle prizes are gift certificates to CB Hannegan's, Preston Wynn Spa and local golf courses; a $160 gas card donated by Campo di Bocce; and a trip for two to Mexico.
Individuals or companies can be a tee sponsor for $400.
