Stephen W. Oshinsky
Dr. Stephen Warren Oshinsky, 64, died Nov. 23 of pancreatic cancer.
Oshinsky was born in New York in 1941. He attended the University of North Carolina, Tufts Dental School and the New York University post-graduate periodontal program. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1968, completing two tours on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Ticonderoga.
In the 1970s, he and his wife, Carolyn, relocated to Santa Clara County, where he practiced periodontics for 30 years before retiring and building a residence on Lake Oconee in Georgia. The family lived in Monte Sereno and Los Gatos for more than 30 years and all of their children attended Los Gatos High School. He was a member of the Los Gatos Rinconada Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Oshinsky of Eatonton, Ga.; son Joshua and his wife Christina of San Jose; daughter Allison and her husband Chris Harmon of Boston; daughter Sarah and her husband Rod McKeon of San Clemente; grandsons Zackery Oshinsky and Nate Harmon; and brother David and his wife Jane Oshinsky of Austin, Texas.
The funeral and burial took place in New Jersey. A celebration of life service took place at Congregation Shir Hadash in Los Gatos on Dec. 11.
