Sara Cole is back
at home in
Los Gatos

Sara Cole, the Los Gatos mother who was seriously injured in a September car accident, has returned home after undergoing several months of therapy at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix.

She will continue therapy at home. Cole's legs were crushed when a drunken driver smashed into the back of her SUV.

The driver, Lucio Rodriguez, has pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and causing great bodily harm. He is expected to be sentenced on March 28.

Center store

The Hollywood Video store at 15521 Union Ave. is selling off its inventory because the store will be closing once everything is gone.

The Downing Center store is one of 400 being shut this month by corporate owner Movie Gallery, which has filed for bankruptcy protection.

The Hollywood Video at 640 Blossom Hill Road will remain open.

Walk for peace
will be passing
through town

The Los Gatos community is invited to be part of the Peace For Earth Walk sponsored by the Quakers. The walk will go from Palo Alto to San Jose, and ultimately to Santa Cruz. Walkers will be in Los Gatos about noon on March 9.

Los Gatos artist Anne Lamborn, a member of the Voluntary Simplicity group, will host a potluck lunch, then the walk continues up the creek trail to Lexington Dam and on to the Presentation Center in the Los Gatos hills. To join the walk, call Ivy Iverson at 408.354.4128.
