Reader applauds
developers' efforts

Although I am usually a live-and-let-live person, I am frustrated with everyone bullying into the lives and property rights of their neighbors.

To Mr. Douglas [the neighbor featured in the March 1 cover story 'Home Extinction?'], I understand your feelings [of wanting to save the home], but developer Mark DeMattei is a gentleman and true to his word. You will get everything the developers have told you, and it will be done better than you expected. I speak from experience and appreciation.

To the 380 "busybodies" who signed the petition to stop the home from being relocated on the property, the developers--at great expense--have agreed to save the house. Be happy. And unless you intend to put your money where your mouth is-- pool your funds and buy the house to do whatever you want with it--BE QUIET! I've heard enough of your nonsensical hot-air.

I appreciate the refurbishing of an "eyesore" and applaud the efforts of LeBaron/DeMattei developers. I see only the increase in our property values and the benefit to the neighboring YMCA site.

Sebastian fundraiser

Thanks so much for publishing the article about Sebastian Westfall ["Community Raises Funds for Boy with 'Bubble' Disease" in the March 1 issue of the Rose Garden Resident]. We did get calls and donations because of the article. One woman read her mom's Rose Garden Resident and brought us a check even though she lives in a different part of San Jose. We have received checks and notes stating that they heard about Sebastian from the article. Thanks so much.
