    AYSO Soccer

    The Saratoga AYSO Soccer League has announced registration dates for the 2002 season. All registrations are held at Redwood Middle School.

    Advanced registration for coaches, assistant coaches, referees and board members will be held March 30 and April 27, 10-11 a.m. and 3-4 p.m., in room 33.

    Early registration for all players will be held May 11, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and June 1, 1-4 p.m., in the cafeteria. The cost is $125 per player.

    Regular registration is set for June 29, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in room 33. The cost is $150 per player.

    Quito LL

    The Quito Little League will hold opening-day ceremonies for the 2002 season on March 23, 8 a.m., at its home field at Rolling Hills Middle School.

    Masiello honored

    Betsy Masiello of Saratoga was one of seven field hockey players at Wellesley College in Massachusetts named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Academic squad. Players were honored for their combined success on the field and in the classroom.

    Golf Tourney

    The Monta Vista High School Athletic Boosters Club will host a fundraising golf tournament on April 28 at the Shoreline Golf Course in Mountain View.

    Hey, Coaches!

    Athletic directors at area high schools were recently sent packets to distribute to spring sports coaches. In the packets were questionnaires for coaches to complete, along with letters requesting information, rosters and schedules for the upcoming 2002 season.

    Coaches are encouraged to return the information to the newspaper as soon as possible so that we can begin coverage of the spring season. For additional information, call Dick Sparrer at 408.354.3110, ext. 31.

    Lacrosse Camp

    Stanford coach Joe Christie will host a lacrosse camp April 8-11 for beginner to intermediate players ages 8-14.

    Christie, a teacher at Redwood Middle School, will team with Redwood teacher and athletic director Brian Senior to put on the camp in Saratoga.
