This might just be a dynasty in the making.
A year ago the West Valley Midget Falcons won the Peninsula Pop Warner Football League championship, and they've done it again in 2005.
The Falcons faced the 49ers from Redwood City in the championship game and defeated them 30-8.
The Falcons led 8-0 at halftime and, with the game still close, broke it open with three scores in less than 10 minutes. The 49ers only score came on a kickoff return late in the game.
Kyle Miller led the offensive attack at quarterback, while Will Sparks scored two of the touchdowns and Trevor Jarvis and Kyle Olugbode each had one. Olugbode finished the game with over 100 yards rushing.
John Batinich, John Meulman, Sukhrai Sohal, Scott Jarvis and Mike Combs manned the offensive line for the Falcons. Thanks to the effort of the line, the Falcon offense has scored at least 25 points in every single one of their victories thus far this year.
The defense in the game was led by Sparks, Joey Vizzusi, Trevor Greyson, Chad Hamil, Olugbode, Dominik Arbet, Miller and Myles Johansen.
The Falcons now go on to play the Reno Bulldogs on Nov. 27 for the Pacific Northwest championship. The winner of that game earns the right to travel to Florida to represent Pacific Northwest Pop Warner Football in the Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando during the week of Dec. 5.
"Our goal last year was to make it to Florida, and we did that," said head coach Kim Johansen. "This year, we will be satisfied only with winning our final game, the Super Bowl championship."
"We really have a complete team," said co-head coach Pat McGrady, who led the Gilroy Browns to the Super Bowl championship in 1999. "All of our players contribute and the team spirit of this group of boys compares to my championship team."
