Grand theft--On Jan. 12 between 4:45 and 5 p.m. on Big Basin Way. Two Hispanic females in their late teens entered a store on Big Basin Way and stole the cashier's purse from the front desk. They then used a credit card at a Shell gas station in Los Gatos. The sheriff's office obtained a surveillance tape from the gas station manager.

Auto burglary--On Jan. 12 between 1 a.m. and noon on Saratoga Avenue. An unknown person smashed the passenger's side window of a locked vehicle and stole items worth approximately $420. Latent fingerprints were taken at the scene and submitted to the detective division of the sheriff's office. The unknown person is still at large.

Grand theft--Between Jan. 11 at 9:30 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 7:30 a.m. on Nutwood Lane. Unknown persons entered two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a residence on Nutwood Lane and stole two trumpets and a camera. The stolen items are valued at approximately $4,800. The thieves are still at large.

Residential burglary--Between Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 10 a.m. on Shadow Oaks Way. An unknown person entered a residence through an open garage door and stole a Global Positioning System from one of the vehicles. The person also took two bicycles from the garage. The stolen items are valued at approximately $770.

Soliciting after hours--On Jan. 11 between 7:18 and 7:30 p.m. on Glasgow Drive. A man was cited for attempting to solicit after hours per a city ordinance. He was released at the scene.

Auto burglary--Between Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 7:30 a.m. on Lutheria Way. An unknown person smashed out the driver's side window of a man's car and crawled inside. The person then reached over to grab a backpack containing a laptop and passport. The person also removed a Global Positioning System and binoculars from the center console before fleeing in an unknown direction. The stolen items are valued at approximately $2,910.

Auto burglary--Between Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 11:15 a.m. on Park Place. An unknown person smashed the passenger's side window of a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence. The person then stole a woman's purse, cosmetic case and digital camera. The thief also used her credit card to make at least two unauthorized purchases in Campbell. The estimated value of the stolen items is approximately $965.

Burglary--Between Jan. 11 at 5:15 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. A man who owns an electronic design company found his store window smashed and several items stolen from the store. The estimated value of the stolen items is approximately $23,300.

Vandalism--Between Jan. 10 at 8:45 p.m. and Jan. 11 at 7:30 a.m. on Sarahills Drive. An unknown person threw a rock through a vehicle's rear window, breaking the window and causing damage to the front windshield. The rock also caused damage to the rearview mirror. The estimated cost of the damage is $2,000. The unknown person is still at large.

Auto burglary--On Jan. 10 between 5 and 5:30 p.m. on Kerwin Ranch Court. An unknown person broke into a man's locked vehicle by smashing the passenger side window with an unknown object. The person then stole an iPod and wallet containing the man's driver's license. One fingerprint was obtained from the interior of the vehicle. There is no further information.

Possession of marijuana--On Jan. 10 at 12:35 a.m. on Big Basin Way and Saratoga Avenue. During a traffic enforcement stop, a deputy could smell marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to having marijuana in his right jacket pocket. The driver was cited and released at the scene.

Selling marijuana--On Jan. 10 at 11:12 a.m. on Fourth Street and Big Basin Way. During a consensual encounter stop of three juveniles for ditching school, a deputy found marijuana and cigarettes on two of the juveniles. They told the deputy that they had bought the marijuana from someone inside a store on Big Basin Way. The deputy could not find the person, who is known and still at large. The juveniles were released to their parents.

Burglary--On Jan. 10 between 10:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on Glen Brae Drive. An unknown person broke into a house while the resident was still inside. The resident was able to call 911, and deputies searched the house but did not find anyone. The estimated value of the stolen property is approximately $4,000, which includes a Global Positioning System and digital camera.

Residential burglary--On Jan. 9 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Fruitvale Avenue. A woman saved $1,500 to send to Jamaica and kept the money in a billfold. When she heard a voice asking if anyone was home, she went into the living room. When she returned, the money was not in her billfold. The woman believes the home care staff might have taken the money.

Unlicensed driver--On Jan. 8 at 11:35 p.m. on Quito Road and McCoy Avenue. During a traffic enforcement stop for expired registration, a deputy found the driver's driving privileges suspended due to a prior driving under the influence violation. There were also two warrants out of Stanislaus County for DUI. The driver was booked on charges for driving without a license and the two warrants.

Residential burglary--On Jan. 8 between 4:45 and 6:45 p.m. on Lomita Avenue. After a woman heard her master bedroom door slam loudly, she left the house and called 911, suspecting someone was inside. Deputies set up a perimeter and searched the house, but did not find anyone inside. There were several items taken, including two iPod touches, a universal remote and a wedding ring worth approximately $20,000.

Grand theft--Between Jan. 7 at 10:30 p.m. and Jan. 8 at 6:30 a.m. on Hill Avenue. An unknown person entered a man's unlocked vehicle parked at his residence on Hill Avenue. The person removed an 80-pound subwoofer from the back seat and also took a wallet containing a driver's license and $100 from the center console. The person fled in an unknown direction and is still at large.

Lost passport--Between Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. and Jan. 8 at 8 a.m. on Vineyard Lane. A man lost his passport and filed to get a new one. He remembers seeing the old one early last year, but is unsure where he left it. He does not remember any of the passport information.

Lost passport--Between May 1, 1995, at 8 a.m. and Jan. 1 at 8 a.m. on Braemar Drive. A man reported losing his Taiwanese passport, which he hadn't seen since 1995. He was told to report the missing passport in order to receive a new one.
