    'Annie' comes to Sunnyvale

    The Sunnyvale Community Players will present their production of Annie Feb. 16 through March 11, at the Sunnyvale Community Center Performing Arts Theater, 550 E. Remington Drive. The popular musical, based on the classic comic strip Little Orphan Annie, will feature an all-children cast. The show will run Thursdays, at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Sundays, at 8 p.m. and Sundays, at 2:30 p.m. The performance on Sunday, March 4, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $13 for adults, $11 for students and seniors.     Buffet on the Bay

    The Sunnyvale Multi-Purpose Senior Center presents a Steppin' Out Day Trip, Buffet on the Bay on Feb. 22, from 10:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Senior Center members can enjoy lunch aboard a cruise on the Bay, followed by a visit to the San Francisco Wax Museum. Participants must be Senior Center members. Cost is $70 per person. For more information, call Jean at 408.730.7372.

    Conversation with Picasso

    The Sunnyvale Senior Center, in conjunction with the city of Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation Department, will present A Conversation with Pablo Picasso, a live depiction of Picasso's life and work performed in costume and makeup by Ken Young from Living Artists Theater. Young will appear in character to show slides, prints and books to visually share the artist's work. The presentation will be held on Feb. 22, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Senior Center, and is open to those age 50 and older and their guests. Cost is $2.50 per person.     Author visits Sunnyvale

    Best-selling author Chris Blake will talk about his new book, Searching for a God to Love, on Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Palace Restaurant, 146 S. Murphy St., Sunnyvale. The event will also include entertainment and music by local artists and musicians, and a drawing will be held for free copies of Blake's book. The event is free and open to the public.
