    Groundhog Club of Silicon Valley

    The Groundhog Club of Silicon Valley celebrated its twelfth annual Pennsylvania Groundhog Party with a nostalgic evening of everything Pennsylvania, from the food served to the songs sung to the items, including scrapple, being raffled off. All of the this was capped off by a visit from Punxsytawney Phil himself, also known as school educator Fritz Knipe from Los Gatos. The event was hosted by Club President Jack Mallory of Saratoga, and nearly everyone that attended was either a transplanted Pennsylvanian, had gone to school there, or married someone from the Keystone State. Hometown food featured for the evening included Sauerkraut and pork, chicken pot pie, pickled beets and eggs and Rolling Rock beer. Money raised from the auction and raffle at this event is being donated to Second Harvest Food Bank and the Boy Scouts of America.
