    Adult Sports

    The city of Sunnyvale is currently holding registration for its adult basketball, softball and volleyball programs.

    The cost is $560 for the 10-game spring basketball league, $380 for the seven-week softball season and $250 for the eight-match volleyball campaign. Each entry fee includes any playoff games, and there is a $10 fee charged for each non-resident.

    Babe Ruth League

    The area Babe Ruth Baseball League is looking for players ages 13-18 from Cupertino, Sunnyvale, Mountain View and Los Altos for the coming season.

    Signups will be held Feb. 28, 6-8 p.m., at McKelvey Park in Mountain View, a half block west of El Camino on Miramonte. Players must provide a birth certificate or military ID for proof of age.

    Lakewood Baseball

    Lakewood Youth Baseball of Sunnyvale is holding signups for the 2001 season each Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and Wednesday, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Lakewood Park Rec Room.

    The league is open to players ages 5-12. The registration fee is $45 for players ages 5-6 and $60 for players ages 7-12, and players must provide a copy of their birth certificate, medical and dental information.

    League tryouts will be held March 3, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., for players in the Pinto (7-8), Mustang (9-10) and Bronco (11-12) divisions. Registration fees go up $5 per player after tryouts.

    The league's opening day is set for March 31.
