    Public Safety

    The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Public Safety Department

    Auto burglary--Sept. 18, 5:30 p.m., 1300 block of Bordeaux Avenue. Unknown suspect broke into vehicle and stole the faceplate from stereo CD player valued at approximately $400.

    Burglary/Forgery--Sept. 19, 2 p.m., 400 block South Mathilda Avenue. Two suspects entered a bank and each attempted to cash forged checks. They were denied due to bad signatures and lack of identification. Both suspects were detained and booked into county jail.

    Possession of Controlled Substance--Sept. 21, 6:30 p.m., 800 West Awahnee Road. Officers found evidence of sales and manufacturing of a controlled substance at a residence.

    Possession of Cocaine--Sept. 22, 1 p.m., Merrimac and Grape avenues. Officer dispatched to check on suspicious vehicle parked near an intersection. Subsequent search of vehicle revealed crack pipe and "rock" cocaine. Suspect was booked into main jail.

    Burglary--Sept. 22, 1 p.m., 500 block of El Camino Real. Two suspects were observed acting suspicious in local grocery store parking lot. One suspect entered grocery store and loaded shopping cart full of expensive liquor and exited without paying. Manager was able to detain one of the suspects after a chase.

    Grand Theft--Sept. 22, 9:30, 600 San Luisito Road. Unknown suspect stole more than $2,000 worth of gold from victim's bedroom.
