Public Safety

The following incidents were compiled from the log at the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.

Theft--Jan. 20, 3:45 a.m., 800 block of E. Fremont Avenue. Someone stole two cartons of cigarettes.

Domestic violence--Jan. 19, 3:31 p.m., 100 block of Locksunart Way. Someone slapped the victim in the face and drove away in a new white Dodge van.

Auto burglary--Jan. 19, 11:48 a.m., 1200 block of E. Arques Avenue. Someone stole a wallet and a cell phone from a Honda Civic.

Auto theft--Jan. 19, 10:19 a.m., 700 block of S. Fair Oaks Avenue. Someone left a stolen Plymouth van in a parking lot overnight with a door open.

Found property--Jan. 19, 10:23 a.m., 300 block of Cobalt Way. Someone found a purse in a parking lot.

Auto theft--Jan. 18, 10:11 p.m., 700 block of S. Fair Oaks Avenue. Someone stole a Honda Accord from a parking lot between 4 and 6 p.m.

Auto burglary--Jan. 18, 10:30 p.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. Someone smashed the window of a Kia rental vehicle and took a laptop.

Residential burglary--Jan. 18, 5:56 p.m., 800 block of Dartshire Way. A burglary was reported.

Vandalism--Jan. 18, 4:04 p.m., 200 block of Buena Vista Avenue. Someone scratched the paint and flattened all the tires on a woman's Toyota Camry.

Auto burglary--Jan. 18, 4:04 p.m., 400 block of S. Pastoria Avenue. Someone burglarized a vehicle the day before.

Trespassing--Jan. 18, 11:06 a.m., 700 block of E. El Camino Real. A man was sleeping in a dumpster behind a restaurant.

Grand theft--Jan. 18, 11:09 a.m., 900 block of W. El Camino Real. Someone stole all four tires from a 1996 Toyota Avalon.

Vandalism--Jan. 18, 9:20 a.m., 1600 block of New Brunswick Avenue. Someone broke nine sprinkler heads that cost $120 each.

Auto theft--Jan. 17, 7:29 p.m., 200 block of Arriba Drive. Someone stole a 1999 Toyota Camry.

Stolen property--Jan. 17, 7:13 p.m., Eleanor Way at S. Wolfe Road. A 34-year-old Sunnyvale woman was arrested on suspicion of passing fictitious checks and selling stolen property while on probation.

Accident--Jan. 17, 4 p.m., 800 block of W. Maude Avenue. A postal vehicle hit a bicyclist.

Auto theft--Jan. 17, 4:40 p.m., 600 block of E. Weddell Drive. Someone stole a 1994 Saturn SL2.

Commercial burglary--Jan. 17, 10:49 a.m., 600 block of E. Arques Avenue. Someone appeared to have burglarized several units at a self-storage facility.

Auto theft--Jan. 16, 8:29 p.m., 100 block of S. Bernardo Avenue. Someone stole a 1995 Honda Accord.

Suspicious circumstances--Jan. 16, 12:56 p.m., 700 block of Lakehaven Drive. Someone shot a 2007 Honda Civic with a BB gun. At 10:23 a.m. that day, someone reported that three lights on a bike path near Hiddenlake Drive and Lakehaven Drive were also shot.

Auto burglary--Jan. 16, 8:26 a.m., 1100 block of Reed Avenue. An apartment complex manager reported that someone burglarized three vehicles overnight.

Residential burglary--Jan. 15, 8:54 p.m., 200 block of W. El Camino Real. A resident returning home discovered obvious signs of force to the front door.

Theft--Jan. 15, 6:43 p.m., 600 block of W. Olive Avenue. Someone stole a credit/debit card and used it.

Theft--Jan. 15, 4:13 p.m., Charles Street at Evelyn Avenue. Someone stole a catalytic converter from a 2001 Honda CRV parked across from the Caltrain station.

Embezzlement--Jan. 15, 1:51 p.m., 100 block of E. El Camino Real. A 35-year-old Mountain View assistant manager at a drug store was arrested on suspicion of embezzling about $1,000 through fraudulent returns and burglary.

Theft--Jan. 15, 1:36 p.m., 400 block of Cirrus Avenue. Someone in a white SUV stole a package from a porch.

Domestic violence--Jan. 14, 11:59 p.m., 1100 block of Ayala Drive. An incident of domestic violence was reported.

Grand theft--Jan. 14, 3:08 p.m., 400 block of N. Mathilda Avenue. Someone stole a woman's Coach purse with $920, credit cards and several gift cards inside from a chair while she was eating dinner.
