arrested

Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety investigators arrested a Sunnyvale man they allege burglarized several Sunnyvale residences over the past several months.

Investigators identified Rigoberto Pacheco Mendoza, 23, as a result of unidentified evidence and then discovered an outstanding arrest warrant charging him with violating probation for a prior burglary arrest.

They arrested him on Feb. 29 at 8 a.m. as he was leaving his Floyd Avenue home, where they say they found evidence linking him to at least eight burglaries, including one on Bobwhite Avenue in which a resident was cut with a knife.

He was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of eight counts of burglary, one count of assault with a deadly weapon and probation violation.
