Hot Stove

Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies will top the list when master of ceremonies Ted Robinson announces the line-up of winners at the 24th annual Santa Clara County Hot Stove Banquet on Jan. 29 at the San Jose Elks Club, 444 W. Alma Ave.

Major League umpires Ted Barrett and Ed Montague will be special guests at the event that will also honor Jeremy Guthrie of the Baltimore Orioles.

Tickets are $40 per person, $400 for a reserved table for 10 ($350 for a reserved table for 10 for youth, high school, community college and college baseball groups).

Umps needed

The Santa Clara Valley Federation of Umpires is looking for baseball umpires, experienced or not, to work the 2008 summer baseball season.

The season includes Pony, Colt, Palomino, American Legion and Oldtimers games. Training will be provided.

Volleyball camp

The Vision Volleyball Club will offer a winter volleyball camp for beginning players. Vision's Futures program is designed for players ages 8-11, and participants will receive individual training in fundamentals and will learn the basics of team play in a fun and positive environment.
