    Tap Explosion

Local tap-dancing troupe brings traditional rhythmic style to the South Bay

We are constantly surrounded by rhythms that make their way into our subconscious and incite our bodies to move. There are some people, however, who are so attuned they find themselves not only responding to external rhythms, but also creating their own. Willow Glen resident Gayle Greenbrook is a good example. Tap Explosion and the classes Greenbrook teaches at Studio 10 in San Jose focus on the original style of tap dancing from the early 20th century, rather than the high kicks and flailing arms of the "show tap" often seen today.   More
