WG Kiwanis donation

The Willow Glen Kiwanis Sunrisers and the Willow Glen Kiwanis clubs officially donated funds raised during last summer's Music in the Glen concert series to Willow Glen Elementary School Principal Dayle D'Anna.

Two checks totalling almost $2,000 were presented to D'Anna on Sept. 18.

The funds will go toward classroom supplies.


Lincoln breakfast

Lincoln High School invites the public to its music department's annual pancake breakfast Nov. 9 between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., in the Lincoln High School gymnasium, 555 Dana Ave. Attendees will be served breakfast while being entertained by music department ensembles. Prices are $8 for adults; $5 for seniors and students with ID; and $4 for children age 12 or younger. For more information, call Mary Jo Sutton at 408.997.8507.


Lower meal prices

The food service department of the San Jose Unified School District (SJUSD) has lowered the prices for school meals. Breakfast will now be $1, reduced by 30 cents. Lunch will be $1.75, reduced by 40 cents. Students can prepay in increments of 10 lunches in advance for $16. Checks should be made out to SJUSD. Some students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. For more information, call the SJUSD food services department at 408.535.6021.
