Notre Dame golf

A golf tournament to benefit Notre Dame High School in San Jose will be held Oct. 7 at The Villages Golf and Country Club in San Jose. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at noon.

The entry fee of $195 includes lunch, golf, contests, auctions, a cocktail party, dinner and an awards ceremony.

SoccerMainia

Soccer skills and conditioning classes offered by SoccerMainia will be held in September at Camden Park. The hour-long, twice-weekly classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays during the 4­6 p.m. time block.

There is also a TeenyMainia program for preschool and kindergarten- aged children.

Youth sports grants

The Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame (BASHOF) is accepting grant applications from youth organizations and schools interested in purchasing new sports equipment.

The BASHOF Youth Fund has provided nearly $2 million to more than 350 sports organizations in the 11 counties of the Bay Area since its inception in 1981.

Annual challenge

The Santa Clara Chiropractic Society will host the second annual Chiropractic Challenge on Oct. 6 at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Events included will be a 5K walk/run, a 10K run and a kids' 1K fun run.

The race will benefit the Campbell Educational Foundation and Kentuckiana Children's Center.

Check-in and race-day registration begins at 7 a.m., with the first race to get underway at 8:30 a.m. The pre-race registration fee is $25 and the fee is $30 on race day. Participants will receive a commemorative long-sleeve T-shirt, refreshments, and entry into a raffle.
