Trash pickup on Lincoln Avenue increases
San Jose District 6 City Councilman Ken Yeager and his staff say they've arranged to have trash pickup along Lincoln Avenue increased so as to have the recycling and garbage collection company GreenTeam clean the avenue on Saturdays.
The new trash pickup schedule began Oct. 19.
"The additional pickup signifies the progress that the city is making to beautify Willow Glen for its residents and businesses," Yeager said. "I'm pleased to see the implementation of another high-priority project by the Lincoln Avenue Task Force."
The Lincoln Avenue Main Street Strategy Task Force, which Yeager formed last year, is comprised of Willow Glen residents and business owners. The task force has several short-tem and long-term projects for Lincoln Avenue and "overflowing trash containers on Lincoln Avenue was identified as the key concern," Yeager said.

Presbyterians will discuss work ethics
The Stone Church of Willow Glen, 1108 Clark Way, is inviting the public to "The Story of Business Ethics: Maintaining a Positive Ethical Climate," a Friday night discussion and a Saturday morning workshop on business and ethics. The evening discussion will be Nov. 8 at 8 p.m. The workshop will be Nov. 9, 9 a.m. until noon. The discussion and workshop are $10 each; the cost to attend both is $15.
Leading the program is Scotty McLennan, dean for religious life at Stanford University. McLennon believes that a company's ethics are revealed not through its official code of ethics but in casual conversation around the watercooler and in break rooms.
