Four boys and two girls advanced to the sectionals after winning local titles in the NFL Gatorade Punt, Pass & Kick competition, held Oct. 13 at the Camden Community Center.

Lawrence Moreno of Campbell and Justin Fountain, Robbie Pappas and Lukas Weber, all of San Jose, won individual titles in boys' competition, and Kahealani Morrow of San Jose and Hayley Hill of Martinez were girls' winners.

Moreno, who boomed a 71-foot punt and a 67-7 kick, won the boys 89 age division, with Mitchell Ravizza of San Jose finishing second.

Fountain, who uncorked a 75-4 pass, was the champ in the boys 1011 class, Nicolas Moreno of Campbell second and Domingo Ene of San Jose third.

Pappas was a champ in the boys 1213 age division, thanks in no small part to a booming 92-3 punt. Franky Fountain of San Jose was second, and Mathew Weber of San Jose finished third.

Weber had the long pass of the day at 77-2 and the long kick at 85-7 on his way to the championship in the boys 1415 age division. Ryan Blake of San Jose was second, with Shaun Morrow of San Jose third.

K. Morrow won the girls 1011 age group and Hill took the girls 1213 title. Hill's kick of 92-3 was the longest of the day in any division.

The local event, hosted by the Citywide Sports & Aquatics division of San Jose's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, qualified winners for the sectional competition held Oct. 19 at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco.
