Church offers yoga classes for seniors
No yoga experience is necessary to join the Fifty-Plus Gentle Yoga Class that meets at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 1205 Pine Ave., at the corner of Pine and Newport avenues in Willow Glen.
The class meets every Monday and Wednesday from 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Everyone is welcome and there are no "pretzel poses," says yoga instructor Arika Larson.
"The class is perfect for increasing flexibility, building strength and reducing injuries," Larson says.

WG Coffee Roasting Co. features new exhibit
The portrait photography of Willow Glen resident Kathleen Reeve will be on exhibit at the Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Company, 1383 Lincoln Ave., from Dec. 1 to Jan. 3. A reception will be held on Dec. 15, 13 p.m., and members of the community will have the opportunity to meet the photographer and partake in refreshments.
"I believe in giving back to the community," says Willow Glen Coffee Roasting Company owner Chris Carris. "For over 10 years this coffee shop has offered these walls to artists as a way to support Willow Glen's creative talent."
Reeve has a long career as a newspaper photojournalist. She captures action and expression to create family portraits that tell each family's story. She graduated from Ohio University and has worked for three newspapers, including the Chicago Sun-Times, photographing fires, drug raids, hostage situations, baptisms and scenes from immigrant life.
"People tell me they don't want a picture of them just sitting there staring at the camera," Reeve says. "They don't want arranged, static pictures of people that look like all the other group pictures taken by a photographer. I try to capture the love and relationship of each family in a way that has never been seen before."
