AVAC hosts run

The Almaden Valley Athletic Club will hold the Celebration of Life Fundraising Initiative run on Nov. 12, 9 a.m., at Almaden Lake Park to benefit Hospice of the Valley.

This event features a 5K and 10K walk or run is open to competitors of all ages. There will be door prizes, refreshments, live entertainment and awards for the top finishers.

Turkey Trot

The Applied Material Silicon Valley Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving Day in downtown San Jose along the newly-opened Guadalupe River Park Trail. The race will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 24 at the Center for Performing Arts, corner of Almaden Boulevard and Park Avenue.

Applied Materials joins the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, the city of San Jose, Santa Clara County and the South Bay Labor Council to present the race that benefits the Santa Clara Family Health Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank and the Housing Trust of Santa Clara County.
