Toy drive
Sunday Friends will team with San José State University to host a toy drive on Nov. 29 when fans are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys when they attend the men's and women's basketball games at the San José State Events Center.
The Lady Spartans will host Portland State at 6 p.m. and the men's team will take on Santa Clara University at 8 p.m. Sunday Friends will then pass on the toys to families in need in San Jose.

Lady Sharks

Lincoln Glen LL
The Lincoln Glen Little League will hold sign-ups for the 2006 season on Nov. 16, 6-8 p.m., Dec. 10, 10 a.m.-noon, and Dec. 15, 6-8 p.m., at the Blockhouse at River Glen Park. The Applied Material Silicon Valley Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving Day in downtown San Jose along the newly-opened Guadalupe River Park Trail. The race will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 24 at the Center for Performing Arts, corner of Almaden Boulevard and Park Avenue.
