Sports Briefs Scout golf

The Boy Scout Invitational Golf Tournament, presented by Bridge Bank, will be held on Sept. 15 at the Cinnabar Hills Golf Club. A 12:30 p.m. shotgun start will follow registration at 10:30 a.m. and a buffet lunch. Dinner and an auction will follow the tournament. The cost is $350 per player or $1,400 for a standard foursome.

Strikkers tryouts

The Strikkers will hold final fall ball softball tryouts on Aug. 31 at Pioneer High School, 1290 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose. Tryout times include--9 a.m., Gold and 18-and-under; 11 a.m., 16-and-under and 14-and-under; and 1 p.m., 12-and-under and 10-and-under.

Golf tourney

The annual Lincoln High School Golf Tournament will return on Oct. 13 at the Santa Teresa Golf Course. The 11 a.m. registration will be followed by a barbecue lunch and a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start. The $175 fee includes the scramble tournament, dinner, a drawing and tournament prizes. All proceeds support the athletic programs at Lincoln. Citti Golf

The Citti Family Annual Golf Invitational, an event established in 2005 to benefit the youth of Santa Clara County in pursuit of higher education, will be held Sept. 12 at the Coyote Creek Golf Club in Morgan Hill.
