Union Little League set to celebrate 50th anniversary

The Union Little League will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year and will commemorate the occasion with a celebration on April 27, 1-4 p.m., at the Belwood Cabana, Blossom Hill Road and Belwood Gateway. The league is looking for all players and volunteers who have been involved in the league since 1959.

Union's Karen Logan is asking for copies of articles and photographs, pictures of the old Good Samaritan facility, athletic achievements of players after playing in the league and photos of second-generation players who played in the league.

Storm football

The Storm youth football organization is holding sign-ups for players and cheerleaders ages 5-14 on March 26 and April 2, 9 and 16, 6-7:30 p.m., at Mountain Mike's Pizza, 301 E. Shooting Stars

Coed tee ball

Registration is under way for the Sherman Oaks Community Center tee ball league for boys and girls ages 5-8. Games and practices are on Saturdays at Hamann Park, 2750 Westfield Ave. The season runs from April 5 to May 10, and the cost is $28. For more information, call 408.277.5680.

Stick Starz

Stick Starz, a field hockey program for boys and girls ages 8-11 sponsored by the U.S. Field Hockey Association, will hold practices on Saturdays on March 29 and April 5, 12, 19 and 26, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at Presentation High School.

Apex Volleyball

The Apex Boys Volleyball Club is looking for players for its 14-and-under team that will participate in the USA Junior Nationals in July in Utah. Wrestling club

The Westside Warriors Wrestling Club holds wrestling practices each Monday and Wednesday, 5:30-7 p.m., in the wrestling room at Prospect High School. Folkstyle wrestling will be taught from October through February with freestyle and Greco-Roman taught March through June.
