Free practice SAT test at the Saratoga Library

The Princeton Review offers a free practice SAT at the Saratoga Library, 13650 Saratoga Ave., on March 1 from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. for high school students who need to prepare for the test. Test results will be provided and a test-taking strategy session will be held at the library on March 8, 3-4:30 p.m.

Registration is required. To register, call the library's adult services reference desk at 408.867.6127.

Scholarship for seniors in the performing arts

West Valley Light Opera Association offers the 2008 Gene Pincus Memorial Theater Arts Scholarship for a performing arts student.

WVLOA will award $500 to a Santa Clara County graduating high school senior who intends to pursue a career in theater arts and who has demonstrated a high degree of involvement in the performing arts throughout high school.

Applicants must be going on to a two- or four-year college, where they intend to major in theater arts.

Argonaut School's visitation day for incoming students

Parents and incoming K-5 students are invited to visit Argonaut Elementary School's visitation and drop-in day on March 6 from 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. Parents of students already enrolled are allowed to observe the classrooms. The event begins at the front office.
