Library will welcome Williams

The Saratoga Library is holding a reception to welcome new community librarian Barbara Williams.

Presented by the city of Saratoga and the Friends of the Saratoga Libraries, the event is being held on Feb. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon in the community room of the library, 13650 Saratoga Ave.

For more information, contact Ann Sullivan, city of Saratoga, at 408.868.1216 or asullivan@saratoga.ca.us.

Opening on the city's library commission

After budget cuts in 2005 forced Saratoga to cut down on its commissions, the city is now looking to bring them back.

The parks and recreation commission was restored after the Feb. 20 city council meeting, and now the library commission is looking to do the same.

There is an opening for an interested Saratoga resident. Applications are due May 8 and are available at Saratoga City Hall, 13777 Fruitvale Ave., or online at www.saratoga.ca.us.

The commission meets the fourth Wednesday of every other month at noon. The next meeting is on Feb. 27.

Study session on Quito Village, office center

Sand Hill Property Company will hold a neighborhood study session to discuss the future of the Quito Village Shopping Center and office center next door.

The study session will take place Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at the office center, 12980 Saratoga Ave., Suite C.

San Mateo developer Peter Pau purchased the property in July for $26 million. This is the second study session since that time.
