Speaker will be dishing out parenting tips

Beth Proudfoot, a licensed family counselor, will give a presentation on teaching children how to resolve conflicts peacefully, and eventually on their own.

"Mommy in the Middle: Conflict Resolution for 2-Year-Olds or Anyone Who's Terrible" will be presented on March 5 at 10 a.m. in the Community Room of the Saratoga Library, 13650 Saratoga Ave.

Brookside Club will unveil'Green Day'

The Brookside Club of Saratoga is inviting the public to Brookside Green Day for a day of recycling e-waste, learning about going green and winning eco-friendly door prizes.

The event is being held on March 9 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the Brookside Club, 19127 Cox Ave.

Those attending are invited to bring unwanted electronic waste such as computers, printers and televisions. The club is also accepting donation items, which will go to local charities.

Retirement center features speaker and free lunch

Saratoga Retirement Community is hosting a free luncheon featuring senior living expert Paul Riepma on March 13 at 11 a.m. at 14500 Fruitvale Ave., building 1000.

Riepma's presentation, "Spacious residential living and the continuing care retirement community lifestyle: the new fountain of youth," will discuss some of the latest trends in senior health and housing.
