'Jam' features artists' books, prints and demonstrations

A good book may be called a page-turner, but the Book Arts Jam features artistic tomes that are head-turners, too. The event highlights artist's books, zines and many other creative works on the printed--or painted, or collaged--page.

The Book Arts Jam takes place Oct. 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Foothill College, 12345 El Monte Road, Los Altos Hills.

The jam, presented by Bay Area Book Artists and Foothill College's Print and Book Arts program, showcases unique books, handmade paper, fine-art prints and more. Books include limited editions, as well as a number of artists' books, which combine printing and bookbinding techniques with painting, collage, textiles and more to create art in the form of a book.

The event also aims to inspire visitors with demonstrations of binding, printing and more.
